Allivalite, Craig quarry.

Allivalite is a type of gabbro, named after a mountain on the Isle of Rum. It consists of plagioclase feldspar and olivine without pyroxene (though there is a very small amount in this sample). The plagioclase is a calcium (An) rich variety, and the olivines are slightly altered with rims of magnetite and possibly talc.
